Many people think that most people living in poverty, are in the slums of Africa. This isn't true when you take into consideration that 35.9 million people living in the U.S. below the poverty line. One of the most saddening things is that 12.9 million of these people are children. People don't always realize that America too, has people starving to death | everyday because they can't afford food. There are plenty of people who live in conditions unsuitable for even a fly, expecially a child. In the current economy crisis, every little penny counts, even more so because of the scarcity of jobs. Thousands of jobs everyday are being sent overseas. Despite millions of hungry people, over 100 billlion pounds of food is still wasted each year. |
